ematix is an independent, open-source project building data and analytics tooling that's fast, self-contained, and free to run — no cluster, no license, no lock-in.
We're closing two gaps at once. First, the compute gap: data processing has grown to demand ever-larger clusters and budgets. Second, the skill gap: standing up a full software and analytics stack has become the work of specialized teams. We believe both are solvable — with free, open-source tooling that matches or exceeds the best-in-class, for-profit providers.
Cut the compute and cost of data processing. A single node should do work that teams reach for whole clusters to handle.
Let one engineer deploy a full software and analytics suite to their own environment — without a platform team behind them.
Open-source tooling on par with — or ahead of — the best commercial platforms. No license, no lock-in, no gatekeeping.
ematix is built by a small team of three engineers with deep, combined experience across data engineering, software engineering, analytics, and AI. We've spent our careers building the kind of systems ematix aims to make free and accessible — and we're building it because we wanted it to exist.
Pipelines, streaming, and storage at scale.
Systems built to be fast, correct, and operable.
Turning raw data into answers people can act on.
Modern ML and agentic systems, applied pragmatically.
